Horse Guards Parade, Summer
A black cab passes by on a warm summer’s day as visitors walk across the parade ground. Horse Guards fronts Horse Guards Parade, the vast parade ground where the Queen takes the salute at the Trooping of The Colour ceremony on her official birthday. The building was designed by William Kent, (1750-9) the then Chief Architect to George II. Only members of the Royal Family are allowed to drive through the central arch to Whitehall.
