Sun over Westminster
This view is from the Hungerford Bridge, looking towards Westminster. In the late 19th century Claude Monet painted his famous views of the Houses of Parliament, it is said from his room at the Savoy Hotel. His paintings show the effect of sunlight behind Westminster through the fog. Today’s clear skies give a brighter view of sun reflecting off the Thames. The boat on the right is the Tattershall Castle, formerly a passenger ferry and now a bar, moored to the embankment.
